These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of woodburningpatterns.com, our newsletter and any free or paid digital products we offer (together, the “Services”). The Services are run by Wood Burning Patterns (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
1. Who can use the Services
You must be at least 16 years old to subscribe to the newsletter, and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live to buy products. If you use the Services on behalf of a business, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms for it.
2. Our content and your licence
All patterns, designs, illustrations, photos, text, guides and other material on the site and in our products are owned by us or our licensors. They are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws where those apply, and in every case by the licence terms in these Terms. Using them does not transfer ownership to you.
Unless a product page or the file itself states different licence terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:
- view, download and print patterns for your own use;
- trace or transfer patterns onto wood, leather, gourds and other materials and burn them by hand;
- keep, display or give away the finished pieces you make.
Unless we expressly allow it in writing or on the product page, you may not:
- share, resell, sublicense, upload or give away the pattern files or PDFs themselves, in original or edited form, including in bundles, file-sharing sites, social groups or print-on-demand services;
- claim the designs as your own or remove copyright notices;
- use the designs in logos, trademarks or mass-produced or laser-engraved commercial products;
- copy our posts or images to other websites, apart from short quotes with a link back to the original page;
- use our content to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, or scrape the site in bulk.
Some products include a commercial-use licence for finished handmade items. Where they do, the terms on that product page apply in addition to these Terms.
3. Buying digital products
Paid products are digital files sold and delivered through Gumroad, Inc. When you buy, you also agree to Gumroad’s terms for the checkout and payment. Gumroad processes your payment, may act as the merchant of record and may charge sales tax or VAT where required. Your card or bank statement will usually show a Gumroad reference (for example “GUMRD.COM” followed by our store or product name).
Prices are shown at checkout in the currency stated there. Your order is complete when payment is confirmed and you receive access to the download. Please download and save your files promptly and keep a backup. If a file is missing, damaged or will not open, contact us and we will help you get a working copy.
Because our products are digital content delivered immediately, by completing your purchase you ask us to give you access straight away. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.
4. Newsletter and free downloads
Free patterns may be offered in exchange for joining our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, and you may keep any free files you have already downloaded for personal use under section 2. How we handle subscriber data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
5. Safety
Wood burning involves hot tools, smoke and fumes. Our guides are general information for hobby use and do not replace the instructions that come with your tools. Always follow the manufacturer’s safety directions, work in a well-ventilated space, use suitable untreated wood, keep tools away from children and pets, and never leave a hot burner unattended. You are responsible for how you use tools, materials and techniques, and you do so at your own risk.
6. Affiliate links and third-party sites
Some posts may include affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Third-party websites, products and services are not controlled by us, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, prices or practices. Your dealings with them are governed by their own terms.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Services, including by attempting to break into or overload the site, spreading malware, sending spam through any form, using automated tools to collect content, or using the Services for anything unlawful or fraudulent. We may block access or cancel product access where there is clear misuse, fraud or a payment dispute raised in bad faith.
8. Disclaimers
We work hard to make our patterns and guides accurate and useful, but the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that the site will always be available or free of errors, or that a pattern will produce a particular result on every type of wood or with every tool. Results depend on your materials, equipment and skill.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data, damaged materials or injuries arising from your use of the Services, tools or techniques described on the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Changes to the Services and these Terms
We may update, add or remove content and products, and we may change these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes do not affect purchases already completed under the terms that applied at the time.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in the courts there.
12. AI-assisted content
Our patterns are currently generated with artificial intelligence image tools and then prepared as printable line art, and some of our articles and images are also created with the help of AI. Some future designs may be drawn by hand, and those will be described as hand-drawn. AI-generated cover images illustrate a topic and are not photos of real projects. AI can make mistakes, so use the content as general guidance, follow your tool’s instructions, and let us know if you spot an error. More detail is in our Disclaimer. The licence terms in section 2 apply to all our content and products, however they were made.
